I thought about drawing a lil sketch comic about my baby leering over my shoulder all like, “That’s a nice returning drawing schedule you have there… would be a shame if something… happened to it” but that would in fact involve drawing and I didn’t feel like it! I haven’t felt like much drawing at all because SOMEONE decided to have massive, three-week sleep regression right when I caught a virus, causing it to be way worse than it needed to be and two weeks longer than it needed to be! So I’ve been extremely sick and totally wiped out tired right when I was trying to get back into the swing of things. Like, desperately searching for pockets of time where I could nap wiped out.
Sorry about that.
So here’s take two on getting back into the habit of drawing one page a week. I have also done some background work (more solid outlining on Saul’s chapter. It’s going to be longer than the other chapters.)
Meanwhile enjoy this pencil sketch I did while at a birthday party my son was attending. Sometimes I like to think about what my characters might look like in different settings, and if Saul was in a modern/urban setting, he’d probably dress like this! Because “It makes you uncomfortable” and “my legs look amazing in these leggings (haha now you’re even more uncomfortable)” and possibly “I do actually like [whatever is on the logo] though.”
…something about having access to a smartphone also makes me render Saul and Pious as younger than they are when the story takes place so that’s probably part of it.
