Sometimes, when I’m trying to get to know my characters better, I ask them questions like these. Sometimes they end with me telling a character to shut up because nothing’s about him and he responds that I’m making an entire webcomic about him.

Yes, I did learn the word “petrichor” from that one episode of Dr. Who. It has served me well. A lot of times when perfumes say they smell like rain, they MEAN they smell like flowers after rain, not petrichor. It’s taught me that sometimes when you say “rain” as a scent, that doesn’t communicate what you meant it to.
